Tools Reference
Cyberstrike ships two classes of tools: core tools for file/shell/memory operations common to any AI agent, and security tools purpose-built for penetration testing.
Core Tools
| Category | Tools | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in Tools | Read, Write, Edit, Glob, Grep, Bash, Memory, ToolSearch | File operations, shell execution, persistent memory, and dynamic MCP tool loading |
| Web | WebFetch, WebSearch, CodeSearch | Fetch web content, search the web, and search code repositories |
| Tasks | Task, TodoWrite | Delegate work to specialized subagents and track task progress |
Security Tools
Traffic Capture
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
| Hacker Browser | Autonomous AI-driven web crawler — logs in, walks the application, captures HTTP traffic |
| Chrome Extension | Manual browser-driven traffic capture via a Chrome extension for your own browser |
Security Hooks
412+ programsEight domain-specific hook suites, each exposing dozens of programs the agent can call by name. See Security Hooks for the full catalog.
| Hook | Programs | Domain |
|---|---|---|
windows_hook | 156 | Windows & Active Directory post-exploitation — credential theft, Kerberos, lateral movement, AD enumeration |
linux_hook | 122 | Linux post-exploitation — credential harvesting, privilege escalation, persistence, network pivoting |
mac_hook | 48 | macOS post-exploitation — Keychain, TCC bypass, dylib hijacking, AirDrop lateral movement |
llm_hook | 25 | LLM/AI security — prompt injection, jailbreak, OWASP LLM Top 10, multi-turn attacks |
container_hook | 22 | Docker — container escape, image scanning, registry enumeration, runtime audit |
k8s_hook | 22 | Kubernetes — RBAC escalation, secret extraction, etcd dump, pod escape |
iac_hook | 17 | Infrastructure as Code — Terraform state secrets, security group audit, IAM policy review |
| Web testing tools | 6 | Authentication, business logic, misconfiguration, SSRF, recon, login probing |
Deterministic Probes
Six tools that fire structured, repeatable test batteries against captured requests and return raw observations for the agent to verify. See Probes for details.
| Tool | WSTG | What it does |
|---|---|---|
inject_probe | INPV | XSS tag survival, SSTI evaluation, command injection, LFI, CRLF, HPP, mass assignment, file upload, host header, verb tampering |
access_probe | ATHZ | Cross-identity replay — swaps every credential and unauthenticated against a request, measures response similarity to detect IDOR/BOLA |
session_probe | SESS | JWT tampering (alg:none, weak HMAC, signature bypass), cookie entropy analysis |
crypto_probe | CRYP | Sensitive data on unencrypted channels, weak HSTS, credentials in URLs, optional live TLS handshake |
error_probe | ERRH | Error-based information disclosure via response mutation |
identity_probe | IDNT | Authentication and identity verification testing |
Other Security Tools
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
http_replay | Replay and modify captured HTTP requests — the core testing primitive |
vulnerability | Record a confirmed vulnerability with severity, evidence, and affected endpoint |
triage_vulnerability | Triage and prioritize recorded vulnerabilities |
enrich_vulnerability | Enrich a vulnerability with additional context, references, and remediation |
vrt_check | Check findings against the Vulnerability Rating Taxonomy |
generate_report | Compile a penetration test report from session findings |
oob | Out-of-band testing — detect blind vulnerabilities via callback channels |
csrf_extract | Extract CSRF tokens from responses for replay in subsequent requests |
scope_check | Validate whether a target is within the authorized testing scope |
attack_script | Execute structured attack scripts against targets |
coverage_note | Track methodology coverage — what has and hasn’t been tested |
propose_escalation | Propose privilege escalation paths based on current findings |
methodology_status | View current methodology progress and coverage gaps |
Custom Tools
Add project-specific tools by creating files in .cyberstrike/tools/:
import { z } from "zod"
export default { description: "Custom vulnerability scanner", args: { target: z.string().describe("Target URL to scan"), depth: z.number().default(3).describe("Scan depth"), }, async execute(args, ctx): Promise<string> { return `Scanned ${args.target} to depth ${args.depth}` },}Files in a tool/ or tools/ directory inside any .cyberstrike/ folder are loaded automatically.
Tool Permissions
| Permission | Tools | Default |
|---|---|---|
read | Read | ask |
edit | Write, Edit | ask |
glob | Glob | allow |
grep | Grep | allow |
bash | Bash | ask |
websearch | WebSearch | ask |
webfetch | WebFetch | ask |
codesearch | CodeSearch | ask |
task | Task | ask |
external_directory | Access outside project | ask |
Actions: ask (prompt for approval), allow (auto-approve), deny (block). See Permissions for glob patterns and the full model.
MCP Server Tools
Cyberstrike loads tools from MCP servers via the Dynamic Loading system. The recommended setup is Bolt — a Docker-based plugin system with 7 plugins and ~26 aggregated MCP servers.
Tip
See Bolt for the recommended security-tools setup — all plugins are available as direct tool calls (e.g., nmap, nuclei, ffuf).
